The BM in Worship leadership prepares musician/theologians in three main areas:
- Music Studies;
- Theological Studies;
- Practical studies in music ministry.
The curriculum in the Worship Leadership program at Union University provides practical studies that incorporate the "how to" context of music in ministry; the application of principles specific to the context. These specialized, practical worship leadership courses help students understand how to use foundational music concepts in "real life" situations on the platform, and apply learned principles to leading music in modern evangelical Christian Church worship with a worship team and contemporary band, with a choir and orchestra, or in solo capacities. This focused curriculum is designed to address the specialized needs of the Christian music ministry context and provide the unique tools and skills necessary to navigate the immediate circumstances experienced. This is a praxis focused educational model that emphasizes real-to-life situations and equips accordingly.

At Union, we strive to train up the next generation of worship leaders who are skilled in their craft and can provide Christ-centered worship for the local church congregation. But at the foundation of it all, is our commitment to make sure our students are worshipers first and foremost. The love for God and the desire to follow Christ's example are the most contagious aspects of the worship culture at Union.
